Health, Safety and Safeguarding - May 31st 2013 Cost £150 (includes exam and certificate) (Click here for Application Form)
The course in Health, Safety and Safeguarding is crucial for anyone working in regular, physical contact with children. Successful completion of the course will result in: knowledge of the legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures for safeguarding the welfare of children and young people; full understanding of the correct protocol for treating ill or injured children and young people and knowledge of the appropriate response to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused, harmed or bullied.
All BBO members are encouraged to attend the First Aid and Health, Safety and Safeguarding Course to remain conversant with current practice. Successful completion of both will result in a qualification worth 4 credits on the Qualifications and Credit Framework and a government certificate acknowledged qualification to work most appropriately with young people.

The HSE Approved course in First Aid offers a comprehensive study of the vital procedures required for emergency first aid situations. The course also covers Medical First Aid in the Studio (dance injuries); a must for any student or dance teacher, to ensure knowledge of the procedures necessary for dealing with a medical issue that arises from time to time in the dance studio.
